Wow. A full 20% of the book is footnotes to sources, which is a tribute to the tremendous amount of information packed into these pages. I wish I could say reading this didn't make me sick, but it did. Ugh.

I've read a lot of these kind of books, and this one wasn't anything special. There wasn't really any new information, and I felt like the author went a little overboard on his earnestness.

One of the most powerful books I have ever read. Highly recommend for its thoughtful and well researched look at how the food we eat impacts our bodies and the world around us.

An Inspiring, science-backed, though-provoking and sometimes depressing look at the problem with our food industry, where were headed and what we can do about it. The author does an excellent job of providing a mixture of science, statistics, stories and case studies to teach and backup his points. He covers GMOs, the propaganda of the meat and dairy industry, why being an informed consumer is so important, the effects of diet on our health, the effects of our diet on the planet and much more. It's really amazing how big of an impact our collective diet has on our bodies, our ecosystem and our planet. Books like this are helping people understand whats at stake and what we can do about it.

The bulk of the information in this book wasn't new to me, which is a testament to how far we've come regarding food awareness in this country - or maybe I just read a lot. For the information that was new, it only serves to increase the disgust I have for the agribusiness of this country.

The book ended on a hopeful note. The tide is slowly shifting.

The Food Revolution: How Your Diet Can Help Save Your Life and Our World was written by the heir to the Baskin Robbins throne who threw it all away for a healthier life and covers a lot of topics: food, health, animal welfare, world hunger, GMO’s, and water being amongst them. Given the wide breadth of topics, it’s a testament to the conciseness of author John Robbins to pack in so much information. Each chapter gives facts and figures, as well as quotes, about the impact of meat and the meat industry.

Damn. I have very little words. Everyone should read this book and become aware of what is happening our world, it’s sickening. Everyone needs to do their part to save our plant and treat our animals how they should be treated. Again, just damn.
