It has potential but the flow of the story is a mess and convoluted. More telling and less showing. The narration also got to my nerves.
But the art is good!

Mora is about a girl in a world full of witches who eventually becomes a witch herself… I think. You see, the plot was a bit hard to follow and most of the time I was confused as to what anything had to do with anything. The line of drama was hanging too loose for me to grab onto it. I know there was a separate story line with a lion and these two narrators who were a zombie rabbit and tortoise. Honestly, I wasn't sure how it all fit together into a conflict, and I just can't roll with that. If it weren't for the fact that it was so short I would have dropped it and filed it under did-not-finish.
The saving grace of this graphic novel was the art. Wow! I loved the style, and it definitely inspired me as an artist to explore the use of ink in comic book art. If you can appreciate a graphic novel just for the art, definitely give this a read. However, if you're looking for a good story behind the pretty pictures, I don't recommend this book.
