3/5 stars

It was weird for me to read a Kristen Ashley book that had a fantasy element, I was so used to her tackling similar topics and characters (and loving them all), but this was definitely new for me. I'm a pretty big fan of anything werewolf related, so I was curious to see the route she would take with this book.

Sonia Arlington has always known she was different, bordering on a little weird and she's kept her secret abilities under wraps her entire life, struggling through it alone after her parents died when she was a child.

But when she's suddenly attacked in her own home and then claimed as mate to Callum, king of some cult-thing that has secret communities all over the world, she quickly realises she might not be the weirdest person around.

I enjoyed the new twist on the well loved (and used) werewolf trope, this concentrated a lot on certain prophecies and the way of life werewolves live. I enjoyed the build up for the characters, it wasn't an easy relationship, but I found the overall plot line and twists to be extremely predictable.

This is gonna be a little bit spoilery.

The best thing is that everything I hated about the first book is gone from this one. Yeah the hero is still an overbearing bastard, but he's an overbearing bastard that cherishes his mate. A good guy with incredible responsibility.
I liked the story. This one was also more enjoyable than the first. The culture clash between the two was huge- the best part of the whole story, in my opinion- and made their missteps understandable.
This brings me to one of my main gripes: most of the unimportant drama would have been solved if he had just shown her his wolfy self. He knows who she is to him. Maybe he's not immersed in the human world but he has a basic working knowledge of human interaction. Sonia, on the other hand, didn't even know this other world exists. And then, BAM, total life change. Now there are protocols to follow and weird rules. She struggles so much through this book and frankly I blame Callum. The conversation was like,

"You don't know anything about this but hey, you're my mate."
"What are you talking about, stranger...uh, I mean Callum?"
"I'm different then you."
"Like taller?"
"No."
"Like you're in a gang?"
"No. Come over here and sit on my lap."
"Why?"
"Why aren't you behaving the way my totally-different-than-you people would behave?!"

The differences they had would have still been there. It could be more like this,

"You don't know anything about this but hey, you're my mate."
"What are you talking about, stranger...uh, I mean Callum?"
"I'm different then you."
"Like taller?"
"No." ***changes into wolf***
"Whoa. That is different."
•••commence huge misunderstandings

He doesn't share what he is until the last 25% of the book! I just think the conflict or tensions would have still been there, even with her knowing what he is.

My last issue is the writing style. Third person: extreme edition. Sonia said this, then that happened. Callum did this, then that. This. That. Then. It explained how you should feel instead of just letting you feel because the story is a good one.
And what's the deal with all the parentheses? There were so many. This is a parenthesis heavy book. What a dumb thing to complain about--now I'm just being a bitch.

I'm in love.

My favorite of this series, man did I bawl like a little baby through this!

Whew, it took me quite some time to get through this one! It was a pretty good story, I enjoyed the narrator, but I don't think that this one is going to be one that I revisit. I am looking forward to eventually getting to book 3. Full review to come.

Kind of shook at all the good reviews of this book. Sonia is emotionally miserable for most of the book and is not actually happy with Callum. I get they're both fated and whatever, but I don't get how she actually falls in love with him; especially considering the part where he grabs her by her hair (which Sonia specifically thinks is painful), drags her to a car (again, Sonia trips TWICE), and then ignores her completely.
Also through this Sonia is upset at herself for being weak to which I say YES SONIA YOU ARE and you are weak to the point of frustration.
Honestly, at the end, Callum isn't even that bad. But he is irritating and the sweet parts don't really negate all the condescending and controlling parts. I think with KA's other book's the controlling aspects of the guys generally can really be tempered and it's worth. Here, not so much.
But again, Callum can be great sometimes. It's their relationship together that just seems like an honest mess wow. I can't help it though, I thought the ending was super cute (hence the 2 stars instead of 1).

I love KA and have read so many of her books, but this one just didn't do it for me.

2.5/
Spoilers and a rant!

I'm so confused. I heard such amazing things about this book and the hero. I kept waiting. I kept waiting and anticipating and was left with only disappointment.
1. Really?! You didn't know she was a wolf?! I could tell from the synopsis and this shit dragged out till the bitter end "reveal"?!?
2. You're hiding that you're a wolf?! For weeks?!
3. Deception does not equal love here folks. Not cool.

I just couldn't. This was so surprisingly disappointing that I had to give it up.

*library book*
If this wasn't a library book I don't think I would have given this 3 stars. I love Kristen Ashley but her books at my library take forever to check out so I missed the first book of this series. I put off reading this book even when I had time to read because (SPOILER AHEAD) I was terrified Sonia would end up being a vampire or changed in to one. She didn't (thank God) and I still hot my HEA. Also Sonia annoyed me so much. She literally saw how different their cultures were but still stayed silent about her anger. So Callum was right not to know anything was wrong with her. He is not a mind reader! Callum was arrogant but keep in mind he had almost 400 years of people following his orders and doing his bidding! She was not changing that in the span of 6 weeks, get over yourself.

I had a hard time getting into it. I think maybe on another reread, I might like it more. It beyond frustrated me.

With Everything I Am was a little bit predictable, but that might be only me... I guessed something about Sonia and her guardians early on. That, however, did not take away from my enjoyment of the story.
The prophecy is advancing, and Callum and Sonia are in the middle of it all. There was a lot of action, a lot of sex, and a lot of fighting - even between Callum and Sonia.
