Wow. Damm. Britney has a compelling and heart wrenching story. It's one thing to read about it in the news and its another thing to read and her own family trapping her from her pov. The things she went through sound almost made up they're that insane. Unfortunately this was clearly written by a singer and not an author. It reads like a 13 year olds diary. It has no real structure and lots of stories/chapters have like no value. The story also just ends? Like no moral or overarching conclusion. Just weird. Wish it was ghostwritten almost. Very compelling though.

I checked this audiobook out of my library because, like millions of millennials, I grew up with Spears being the biggest pop star in the world. I still remember hanging the ...Baby One More Time poster up on my crockboard.

I think that Spears should be able to write whatever book she wants to write. Especially after everything that she endured with the conservatorship. I do think that she was incredibly vulnerable throughout this book. I cannot imagine how difficult it was to relive being placed under the conservatorship or with her first public breakup or her divorce. In many ways, Spears wrote in a relatable way. Everyone remembers their first break up and/or a break up that went terribly for multiple reasons. However, I think it must be hard to articulate the added pressure of being one of the most famous people in the world and experiencing that kind of heartbreak...and also having them write a song about something you might not be entirely proud of.

This book took a lot of courage to write as Spears' life has been in the spotlight for nearly all her life. Her willingness to share any part of her story should be commended. Also, that she is willing to be vulnerable to a large audience in any capacity after the conservatorship is inspirational. I would recommend this book to memoir lovers and Spears fans alike.
