This is another book that has helped me solidify my belief that fame, especially for women and especially for women who became famous as children, almost inevitably leads to abusive and toxic situations. I think this is a really moving memoir. I knew the conservatorship was bad, but I just did not have any idea the depths to which her whole family aided and abetted her father's abuse of her. I'm glad she's free of her terrible family, and I'm glad she's getting time for herself and to recover from the decades of abuse she's experienced at the hands of her family, her exes (truly would like to fight Kevin Federline and Justin Timberlake in a parking lot). I don't think it's the best written memoir I've ever read, but it's compelling and I think a good read for anyone interested in the ways that disability rights are important for people on all levels of society.

I'm a huge Britney fan and I loved this book. So sad what she went through.

Britney has always deserved better treatment than what she got, but hearing her full story from her own perspective, and in details previously unknown, built a whole new level of rage in me against the exploitative and hateful powers around her.

Wow. Damm. Britney has a compelling and heart wrenching story. It's one thing to read about it in the news and its another thing to read and her own family trapping her from her pov. The things she went through sound almost made up they're that insane. Unfortunately this was clearly written by a singer and not an author. It reads like a 13 year olds diary. It has no real structure and lots of stories/chapters have like no value. The story also just ends? Like no moral or overarching conclusion. Just weird. Wish it was ghostwritten almost. Very compelling though.

This is the second celebrity memoir that I’ve read in the span of a year and phew they have been emotionally challenging to read. I have so much empathy and sympathy for Britney and everything she’s been through in her life. I truly hope she can put in the work to heal as much as she can from her traumas, even though she shouldn’t have to. To read about the horrors that she has been through makes my heart ache and I hope that whatever she is doing now brings her nothing but joy and healing.

I love that this book exists and that Britney was finally able to share her own story on her own terms. I only wish some details weren't so glazed over.

I grew up listening and jamming to Britney Spears. To read the grief and terrors she had to go through made me incredibly sad..she paved the way for many women by being the best she could be and giving it her all in the music industry. I am moved by her wisdom to choose light despite the darkness she experienced. May she find peace the rest of her days and the freedom to be who she wants to be.
