Woof, this one was a doozy! Our protagonist Naomi was stabbed 17 times and left for dead in the woods with her best friends as witnesses to the crime. The book deals with the resulting fallout and the fact that Naomi doesn't remember much of the attack itself.

Naomi was a pretty intriguing protagonist. She was damaged and prickly, and at first, I was a little annoyed at her actions or reasonings. As more of her past was uncovered, I found that I couldn't blame her thought process, considering everything she's been through. It's rather amazing that she made it so far in life. I found myself sympathizing with her and wishing better for her towards the end. The mystery itself was very layered and well thought out. Each person had something to hide, and it was entertaining trying to figure out their motives.

This story was a wild ride that kept my attention throughout but that I never found myself fully invested in. I thought that things could have been introduced in a more interesting way and that character motivations behind their decisions that drove the plot could have been a lot more thought out and explored.
