Dave has a rock. He loves his rock. But then he notices Jon has a rock too. The two cavemen try to best each other by having bigger rocks (a mountain) or prettier rocks (actually a turtle). Finally the friends realize they can transform the rocks into something that's fun for both of them. With short, grammatically questionable sentences and digital collage illustrations that provide a strong sense of action and depth, this is a great fit for primary readers looking for something humorous. It would also work well as a class read aloud that could lead to valuable discussions about jealousy and problem solving.
