This felt a little childish and immature but most of the book does center around a romance between teenagers so that’s not surprising. May be a good fit for someone but I had a hard time rooting for this couple

The setting, a lake town in the summer were a 12 year old girl and a boy meet. Through the span of six summers we read as their relationship evolves from strangers to friends, from friends to lovers and strangers again. Ten years after that heartbreak, devastating news brings Persephone(Percy) Fraser back to that same lake she first saw Sam Florek all those years ago.

This story was cute, funny, passionate, sad it had it all. Being able to read how a childhood friendship became something more is always sweet. Since the start of the story, Percy and Sam feel like extremely real characters, they are not perfect be any means. Their flaws and insecurities are a very important part of this story and the fact that the author did not shy away from writing them this way was refreshing. Even though this is a romance and our main characters are working through their issues because they love each other and it’s gonna be them in the end, to me the elements of family and platonic friendship in this story are as important as the love story between Percy and Sam. It was a very real story, Percy and Sam really do friends to lovers, second chance romance justice. I loved it, give it a read. 💕

This book. Ugh. I love the setting. I love the way their friendship starts and how it buds into more. The characters were great, flawed realistically. Though I found Percy to be annoying at times. The twist of what happened to pull them apart I actually called easily before it happened.
Cheating with his brother
is what pulls the rating down for me.
