Putting a side all Love and Other Words compares, this is still mess and no-one has chemistry.

This book came after reading really heavy books. It was the kind of pallet cleanser I needed.

this was perfect until the reason the breakup was revealed. it wasn’t just
that she cheated, but with his brother?? my god, i’d never trust anyone again.
that’s my least favorite trope, but it gets 2.25 for having good writing and a great story outside of that reason. but it just ruined it for me!

Wow. I couldn’t love this more. A raw, real love story with perfect chemistry, a slow burn, and second chances. Fortune’s writing is so descriptive and lovely. I feel like I grew up at the lake house, too.

Perfection. The best book I’ve read this year.

Ok I don’t usually write reviews and I never give 5 star ratings but I’m doing both here.
Not a cheesy shallow summer love story. Story has great depth and pacing. I’m in love with the characters and it gave me a book hangover.
Will be looking to read everything from this author from this point forward. Thank you Carley Fortune for introducing Percy, Sam and Charlie to me.

3.5 - One thing about me is I’m a sucker for childhood friends to lovers stories
