Reading in 2022…I’ve definitely forgotten the content of the book and only remember the (apparently far superior?) 80s miniseries version of the books. Also, odd set up of structure—a lot of what happens in the book is Anne describing it as a past event. For some reason this bothers 36 year old me.

A little slower than the first book, but it's so interesting to watch Anne growing up and maturing while still maintaining her unique imagination and creativity. There are still misadventures and antics to be had, but they're growing up with Anne too. Now she's naturally taking on more of a mentor role to the children around her, as well as becoming more of an active member in the community. Her relationship dynamics are changing with those around her too.

This is another sweet, cozy read that's wholesome and makes you feel warm inside.
