One of my favorites it brightens my day every time I read it and I get something new every time.
Decisamente inferiore rispetto al primo capitolo della saga: non succede quasi nulla e Davy è decisamente una copia della Anna bambina portata all'esasperazione
Still such clever writing with amusing jokes and lovely metaphors. Some of the detailed stuff about her students and what they imagine was just too much and not to my taste though. I’d have preferred more on the live stories of Anne and Diana.
Moderate: Death of parent

I had such high hopes for this one after loving Anne of Green Gables so much, and whilst I did enjoy it overall I had a few niggles.
I loved being back in Avonlea with Anne and her little found family. I listened to this as an audiobook during some recent walks, and as with the first book, Anne and her antics were great company along the way.
I had three bugbears with this book; Davy, Miss Lavendar, and the loss of Anne's childlike wonder. These characters just annoyed me, and if they feature in the future books I hope they're significantly less deranged and troublesome 😅 as for Anne's wonder, I hope that comes back. I get that she was a teenager and not a child this time around, but this was one of my favourite aspects of the first book and I missed it dearly.
Despite these niggles, I'll still be back. I can't wait to read more about Anne's adventures and the lives of the people who she loves so much.

Lots of foundation work, I'm hoping, for book 3... Strong ending. Somewhat tedious read without a lot of action or forward momentum.
After reading Anne of Green Gables, I bought a few other books in the series from a second-hand bookstore in Hobart. Anne starts work as a schoolteacher, deals with her young pupils and gradually gets closer to Gilbert Blythe.
