This book was a little lengthy—and took too long to get to the denouement. I DON’T LIKE JENNY. AT ALL. I’m going to go ahead and move to #4, but the pace needs to pick up.

As usual, Robinson doesn't disappoint. I'm officially hooked.

Banks makes for a good hero.

This is an okay book, but I prefer it's predecessor, "A Dedicated Man". This one has a little too much "life-of-the-detective, which I'm not a huge fan of.

Normally I like the characters - but most were absent in this. It dragged on and bare plot.

The third in the Inspector Banks series and a novel that is 25 years old. It's still has an up to date feel with the story, even though there is not the pervasive presence of mobile phone technology. It's an enjoyable read but may lack a bit of excitement and drags in a couple of places. It's still worth reading and as I've read many books in the series, but not in order, it helps fill in the past of the characters that continue in later books.

Like catching up with an old friend.
