I liked the book enough, it was cute, but the relationship is not believable at all. There is nothing in the book that really lends to why they like each other, it feels so out of the blue. And then there is a grand gesture at the end and his weird reactions to everything throughout the book is not explained at all.

Cute Romance with a bit of humor.  There was a mystery about the identity of someone and I felt like to was really obvious from the beginning which made me just want to yell at Emma. It felt a bit repetitive at times. But it was still cute, I loved the Emily Dickinson quotes, the letter writing. Makes me wish I had people to write letters too, I love to write them but no one writes back 😂😂 so I love that she has people writing her letters almost daily.

The narration/production of this audiobook wasn’t great. The narrator’s speaking voice went up and down in volume.

Tropes: Self-discovery, small-town charm, secret identity(ish)
Spice: none

Sometimes, the best way to find yourself is to get a little lost.

Emma Rini is stuck in a rut—managing her family’s bookstore, overlooked by her parents, and feeling like a supporting character in her own life. When her parents assume she’ll take over the shop without asking, Emma decides it’s time for a change. Inspired by her favorite poet, Emily Dickinson, she rents a manor in Amherst, Massachusetts, aiming to embrace solitude and rediscover herself.

But life has other plans. Between battling garden-invading bunnies, receiving mysterious love letters, and dealing with the grumpy yet intriguing architect Davis, Emma’s retreat turns into anything but peaceful. As she navigates these unexpected challenges, Emma begins to question what she truly wants out of her life.

This was a sweet story of self-discovery, family dynamics/drama, and unexpected romance. The small-town setting adds charm to Emma’s journey. The Manor sounded idyllic and somewhere I’d love to visit!  I’m usually not a fan of the secret identity trope, but this one was cute. It reminded me a lot of You’ve Got Mail.

If you’re in the mood for a feel-good story about finding your own path and the surprises along the way, this one is worth picking up.
