Descriptive writing, slow burn, very reflective, with quite a bit of growth for the female main character. That said, the single-minded obsessive fangirling over Emily was a bit much, and there’s a toxically masculine emotional/psychological abuse pattern that’s barely redeemed in the end were difficult to ignore.

I enjoyed his a lot more than I thought I would.
As an Interior Designer, I adored Davis's passion for accessibility and historical preservation. As a fellow people-pleaser, this was like a therapy session disguised as a novel.

As an animal and book lover, the idea of a pet-freindly book store is a dream.

I wish it was a little less predictable and that Emma was a little less oblivious, but overall, the premise and execution was good!
