After a time i picked up another thriller and oh boy i didn't regret picking up this book.

The characters were all you need in a thriller. You get tossed around between love them and hating them. But at the end you let out a scream. Because i didn't saw the ending coming. I liked the writing and don't read it in One sitting take your time enjoy the writing style and the plots about grief and hurt and family 🫣🤯💀🏡

Book 61 of 2025: Home Is Where The Bodies Are - Jeneva Rose

Three siblings back together: Beth (the eldest), Nicole (the middle child), and Michael (the youngest). Brought together by the death of their mother, now they have to sift through their parents belongings…suddenly they stumble upon a home video showing a dead body and now their lives are turned upside down.

Review:
⭐️ 4/5

This was such an interesting premise and an enjoyable read. I loved the nostalgic level of the 90s camcorder recordings, and it was a unique way to tell the story. The sibling dynamics were so interesting, especially how different each child turned out, highlight the old nature/nurture debate. I did predict the ending reasonably early on, whilst this didn’t detract from the enjoyment of reading, it would have been nice to have a bit more suspense and mystery.

Favourite Quotes:
“Nothing brings people together better than death.”
“There's not many things you can count on in life, but that ... is one thing you can count on. It will rise and it will fall — no matter what. Don't matter if you're sick or sad. Don't matter if there is war or there is peace. Don't matter if you see it or you don't. That sun. You can count on it.”
“A half-truth is just a whole lie.”
“We can only endure so much before we can't anymore.”

….not the take away I would have gone with but alright. Apparently nobody could be bothered to learn anything when it comes to “protecting” family.

3.75⭐️ Enjoyable! I may be biased because I think Jeneva Rose is hilarious and a great human, so I’m always going into her books with “rose”-colored glasses (get it, Rose…). Okay anyway
