Easy to read mystery thriller.

Parents cover up the death of their friends little girl and so spirals a series of events which leads to more deaths and the family faling apart.

Turns out it was their son that killed her and potentially his girlfriend later in life so he killed his dad and the mum continued to cover it all up for him.

For a change he doesn't die and goes to prison and the two sisters get their lives together and live happily ever after.

I started this as my first book to get into the spooky season and… Lemme tell ya. Every single character within this book annoyed the crap out of me. Every single one. The older sister was annoying and really hateful the entire book. The middle sister didn’t have a single personality trait other than being a drug addict. The younger brother was annoyingly immature for someone who is supposedly very intelligent and successful? Do not get me started on the dumbass parents

Welp, I've been bamboozled. I think part of it is because I was sure that I figured it out, but looking back I did notice the hints and got caught by my own red herring.

Home Is Where The Bodies Are gives us four POVs. One is for Beth, the eldest sister. Another is for Nicole, the middle child. Then we have Michael, the youngest and most successful child. Lastly, we have their mother in the form of flashback POVs.

Going into this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew that seeing a VHS tape was going to kick everything off. The chapters are short, so that is a good thing. The story did move along, but it did take some time for everyone to clue in on who the culprit is. I wasn't entirely shocked, once again, I did ignore some of the clues because I thought I figured it out really early. I mean, I did ... just slightly off.

It was surprising for me to read the POV of siblings who don't really get along and never have. I know Nicole has her own issues but a lot of the things that Beth said were really mean. My surprise is that I sometimes forget some siblings aren't as close to each other as I am to mine.

Overall, an easy read and had the air of suspense. I can see why some didn't enjoy it and found it obvious. The ending was, but I did read this fast too and so I will say that I did not figure out this ending as quickly as I should have but it was not a twist. That one scene was enough to make the red flags go up.
