Things I liked about the book;
- Tony and Natasha's relationship, I thought it was really well shown and accurate. For example:
' "Of course it is," Natasha muttered.
"If you're with earshot of my voice, you can thank Tony Stark for uploading a personal photographic scan and cloning all existing digital data, to secure it for future use, Natasha."
"Remind me to send him a note." ' - Page 252
- I also like the appearances of Coulson throughout the book, for example;
'Coulson held out his hand. "Great. But I want my pen back. That's a limited edition 1935 Montblanc tiger eye..." Natasha rolled her eyes and slapped the pen into his hand. "It's called a Sharpie. You might want to look into it."'- Page 23
- As well as a brief mention of Steve Rogers and James Barns;
'DOD: I'm surprised to learn even that much. There isn't a lot of background in your background file, Agent. Even your birthdate is redacted.
Romanoff: Yeah, I'm not a big birthday person.
DOD: And what's this reference note that says See Rogers, Steve and Barns, James?
Romanoff: [Shrugs] They don't let me read my own file, sir. I guess I don't have that level seven clearance.' - Page 103
- I like the interview setting between the chapters for some summarizing and to see more of Natasha's sarcastic side.
'DOD: But she was having a dream. She was re-creating memories. She was clearly symptomatic.
Romanoff: I'm not a therapist, sir.' - Page 43
- An easy read even though it is almost 400 pages.
- Ivan Somodorov was a great villain for Natasha to deal with her demons with as conductor of the red room and who taught her everything that she became today. Also brought up the red room and gave it more details of what she did there and the true manipulation that happened.
- The general appreciation for Black Widow herself, I guess? Sort of.
Things I did not like about the book.
- It did not center around Natasha, it surrounded itself around Ava Orlova who I never got attached to. She was distant, bitter but she could do everything Natasha could do because of their connection and it just felt off to me. Maybe it was on the point that I got the book to read about Black Widow but it did not give me a lot to chew on.
- Ava Orlova and Alex Manor, I just didn't like the two characters in general since it just felt like everything revolved around them in a book about Black Widow, referring to my point above a bit but it just made the quality go down a bit for me. The relationship between them was very half made - like I get teenager love but it didn't developed as well as well as I would have appreciated.
Overall: Had a lot of potential but needed more Black Widow in the Black Widow book, could have used more character development.

I really wanted to love this book. I love the whole Marvel fandom and the Black Widow character. However, this book was a tremendous disappointment to me. I go into further detail in my video review: https://youtu.be/iEj7IDzvjD4

I enjoyed this book when I typically don't enjoy spy or conspiracy novels. I liked having an even more fleshed out Natasha to get to know.
I kind of expected better? Natasha seemed like a secondary character in her own book. I wanted more out of this, more of her, but it was good but not great.

Také.. priemerné.
Tony Stark tomu dodal grády :D
A koniec bol smutný.
Veľmi smutný. Rada by som videla niektoré veci z konca vo filmoch.

this was not a favorite. the romance felt weird, the characters were extremely flat and static, and I thought it was quite cheesy. not planning to reread this.
