Before I start to rant let's get out positive and that is Charlie Keating Cobalt and that why 2 stars that is me being super generous.
Now to start what a fuck happened writing is so bad, there is also a ton of exposition and internal thought. The telling-not-showing is the majority of the book and book has no plot.
Maximoff (I'm not calling him Moffy) and Farrow want to have sex, then they have sex, continue sleeping together, then out nowhere stupid incest plot for shock value and in end few more people know about them. The end.
Maximoff I seriously hate him don't treat me like kid but goes of acting like one with changing color of his hair, not running..just not to like Ryke he treats him so badly (like most them) 12 year old Moffy was mature them his grow ass man.He should be proud that Ryke is his uncle also stop comparing him to trio. “You’re sassy like me.” He points at Ryke. “A hardhead like my dear brother.” He nods to Connor. “And steadfast like my one true love.” Like where? Has one scene with Lily and snapped at her plus bullshit with Tom.
I read Long way down Tom was ok with sexuality when he was seven it's has nothing to with Maximoff it has to do with his parents.
22-year old who runs charities despite having no formal training/education in management ok what?!.
Anyways let's move on to Farrow I've found puddles deeper than Farrow. Just a blonde version of Maximoff they are both full of false bravado and arrogance. Neither of them has any flaws,or character development at any point in the story. It's just cringe sex scenes and I'm guessing what is supposed to be "witty banter" but in reality childish insults, both them are super annoying.
Now let's go to part where I want to give it 1 star and maybe will core six believing incest rumors. Really THEM?! Making Coballoway dumb? Lo after what happened to him with his dad? All for what so Maximoff can be more of self-righteous asshole and a piece of shit.
I'm so angry and disappointed right now I can't believe they have 3 more books when they have so many characters to write about.

3 stars...

A forbidden love story between a famous young man and his long-time crush... that just so happens to be his bodyguard.

I wanted to love this one so badly. It had lots of great reviews, and I love a good mm story. It had so much potential, too. Not only do I love when two alpha males come together, but I also usually enjoy the famous trope as well. Let me be clear- I didn’t hate it by any means, but something about the writing just didn’t work for me. It came across as stunted, as did the plot. There would be a whole chapter about something completely unrelated to the plot, but then a main character went into anaphylactic shock and that part was maybe a paragraph. The sex was hot and all, but because the writing didn’t jive with my brain, it was never really memorable from one scene to the next.

All of that being said, the characters were hands down the best part of the story. I loved Farrow (he pretty much saved the book). Maximoff was likable too, just a little too cookie-cutter. I liked that his famous family members were very unique. Honestly, between the reality TV show and the sex tapes, it was hard not to think of them as Kardashian’s- which I was fine with. I also liked the side characters (Farrow’s security team and Maximoff’s family members), but I’m not sure my “likes” were enough to cancel out the writing. This wouldn’t be the first time I felt like I read a different book from literally everyone else, so this very well could’ve been a “me” thing. Maybe if they go back on KU, I’ll give the series another shot, but otherwise, I’m done with it after one.

Maximoff Hale & Farrow Keene.
I haven’t read the Addicted or Calloway series. I really enjoyed Moffy & Farrow’s characters. I liked their families’ “us against the world” dynamics. I liked the security force family also, Omega, Alpha, & Epsilon. The book moved a little too slowly for me, but now that I know there are SO MANY books in this series, it makes sense to me.

Overall, this book wasn’t what I expected to be, but it was definitely very good. I’m not gonna say it was a great book because it definitely feels like I could forget about it in less than a day, but it was very good and it was fun to read. I did like it but at the same time I did have some problems like the conflict in the story at the end. I really think they could’ve done something else. I get that they’re trying to make it so that I go back to the next book which don’t give me wrong I definitely will read the next book. It’s just not what I think should’ve happened.

Story of Maximoff & Farrow

This book was really well written, witty and entertaining.

I didn’t realise it was not a standalone, so going to have to psych myself up to read the next 3 about this couple.

I do really like the authors’ writing style. So I am sure the next books will be great. I love the characters Maximoff & Farrow as well as the secondary characters and now that I have read the descriptions of the next 10 books, I think they would be interesting.
