I enjoyed this read,  thrilling and fun. I couldn’t put it down because i needed to know what happened next. I could not connect with or side with any of the characters, took me to the last chapter to semi-like the main character. I see people mentioning how badly this portrayed ENM relationships… uh yea duh, they literally talk about how they went about things all wrong, it’s a plot point & they tie it together at the end. But there was an inconsistency that threw me off a tad early on, nothing huge but yea, still enjoyable! And the cat is always fine :)

It took the book about 250 pages to start being interesting. The amount of times I thought to DNF it were a lot but I gave it a chance thinking the ending would make a difference. Well the ending and plot twist itself was underwhelming to say the least.

This book was not what I expected. I didn't really read about it before I started it. I knew very little going in.

I don't think I ever read about a poly relationship in a book ever, and it was a little strange, honestly. To each their own, I guess.

The ending was a surprise as most are, but, I don't know, it was missing something.

Wow. I knew this was going to be a story about a throuple, but still…could they have been more wrong in their approach to polyamory? While I very much appreciate a mainstream novel about this alternative lifestyle, I wish the author delved a little more into ethical nonmonogamy rather than exclusively focusing on the sex. Please, don’t stop with the hot scenes, just a little more balance would be nice. But being quarantined during the pandemic made people crave intimacy and touch, so I do get it.

Kelly was basically living in a fantasy world while staying at Sabrina and Nathan’s gorgeous mansion. Reality didn’t exist. Kelly was running from her serious problems at the beginning of the pandemic and was invited by Sabrina, an old high school pal, to be in a lavish pod with her and her husband Nathan. Kelly impulsively says yes, which is just the beginning of her impulsive actions for the rest of the book. Her snooping pays off though as it turns out that Sabrina and Nathan have a dramatic and potentially sinister past that could quickly turn into Kelly’s present if she doesn’t act fast.

I read Andrea Bartz’s previous book We Were Never Here, and I liked it fine but wasn’t really invested in any characters. The same goes for this book, I wasn’t really rooting for anybody. Kelly was pretty self-centered and erratic. However, I was very interested in the plot and got the chills at the first twist. And man, I really would like to spend a couple drama free weeks in that house! I recommend this book as an easy summer read. 3.5 stars.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for kindly providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Spoiler alert!

The book was good in the sense that it was an easy read and kept me guessing. It was also interesting to follow the triplet of people. That said, I got whiplash from the main character’s inability to stick to an opinion on anything! She was so dislikable to me. She blows up this poor woman’s life and seems to feel no remorse about it!

Audiobooked this and went in sight unseen. I didn’t read what this book was about, but liked the cover. (I know!) I enjoyed it, and it surprised me a couple of times how the story developed.

It took until almost 75% through until something interesting or important seemed to happen. The majority of the first half felt so unnecessary to me and overall I was very disappointed in this one!

Spare Room is about a Kelly who is looking for a break from her fiancé and a friend offers her a spare room in her house with her husband. As time goes along she find out they have done this before with another woman. Kelly strives to find out what happen to the woman before her.

This was a good story and I really enjoyed it. However, at times the book moved a little slow but those moments where few and far between for me. There was a couple of sex scenes but they are very low key and but relevant to the story. This story did keep me turning pages to find out what happen to the other woman before Kelly.

This is a good page turner and was a very good read. This took me only 7 days to read (because I do have a life).

This book and especially main character gave me the ick. It actually surprised me, though, which is hard to do so I gave it 2 instead of 1 star. I love the audiobook narrator, too.
