I started this book last year and it was a really slow burn, so I shelved it for a while. I got the amazing opportunity to listen to this audiobook for free on the Penguin Random House app so I gave it another try, and I was just unimpressed.

This book moved too slow, the climax wasn’t particularly thrilling, and the ending was just kind of blah. I thought this book was a “thriller” and it didn’t seem like it could make up its mind whether it was a thriller, a romance, or womens fiction. I also expected far more spice for a book about a throuple. It was barely spicy at all!

The audiobook itself was well done, since Brittany Pressley was the narrator. She always does a fantastic job!

If you’re looking for spice, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for a thriller, this also isn’t it. I was pretty disappointed since the premise was so scandalous!

Thank you so much to Penguin Random House Audio for the gifted copy of this audiobook!

I really wanted to like this book. The premise grabbed my attention but the delivery fell a little flat for me. I wanted more. More development of the characters, better transition into the throuple arrangement, and more on the missing woman and Rene. Maybe it was written and the editing team got rid of it.

Main character is very melodramatic.

Some people will like this and I desperately wanted to be one of them. But it felt so insta-lovey and dramatic and little thrilling aspects to it. There wasn't a single point that I genuinely wondered what was going on. It is a quick read, though.
