this was a wild ride! I never could've predicted where the story went, it had me hooked from the beginning.

TL;DR: VERITY fans: pay attention!! This is the closest thing I’ve read to that twisty, sexy thriller and I was completely hooked on this provocative and deliciously creepy book about a woman who gets caught up in a relationship with the wealthy (and mysterious) couple she’s chosen to live with during the pandemic. It’s steamy and atmospheric and I found myself eagerly turning pages to see where this one went. There. That's where it went.

This book was very different from any book I’ve read. It took forever to get to the bottom of what actually happened and probably 80% of the time was spent building theories that ended up not being correct. I gave it 3 stars because it was a worthwhile read, and I’m sure there are others who would enjoy it.
I would not say it was a favorite book of mine this year at all.
