Very good read but not everything worked for me.

⭐️⭐️✨. I *really* wanted to love this one, because it’s been on my TBR forever, and I’ve heard such fantastic things about it.
However.
This one was mostly a miss for me. The constant world-building kept pulling me out of the story, and there were too damned many characters to keep them all straight. I’m still not entirely sure how the three(?) women are connected — is it one person, with the story told from different points in her life? All in all, this one just required a little more “suspension of all disbelief” than I could give it.

This was freaking fantastic!
Definitely one of the best fantasy stories I've read in a very long time. The world building and magic system were excellent; very well developed and oh so unique. I was really invested in the characters and the various perspectives were great.
I'm excited to read the sequel!
