Wow. Wow. Did I say wow?

Oh, Weston. Your poetic heart that’s kept hidden, makes me swoon and go mad.

Conner, you’re pretty selfish imo.

Autumn, I really just needed you to follow your instinct.

The couch scene at the end

What the actual fuck did I just read? I hated this book with a passion. This is not a “romance” book. I’m pissed.

Bring Down the Stars just obliterated my heart. There's a love triangle and (even though I hate them ) but this it's unlike any I've ever read before. It's full of selfless, unconditional love & loyalty and friendship is beyond anything I can adequately describe.
I feel in love Wes immediately & I was absolutely in awe of the complex, deep relationship Emma created between Weston and Connor and Autumn.
The ending is a cliffhanger, so just be aware of that. All I will say about it is that the book ends with Connor and Weston at their darkest hour.
Beautiful, raw, emotional...an exceptional book, a MUST read.

1🌶️  well this was heart wrenching. My god this is a love triangle if I ever read one. Imagine you're best friends, deeper than brothers. You've gone through life together. But you meet a girl who after a single conversation hits you in a place you didn't even know anyone could reach. Only to find out your best friend is enamored with her. He then asks you to help woo her not knowing you're halfway in love with her already. This can only lead to heartbreak right? And you'll endure it because if he brings her happiness then you'd do whatever it takes to give her that. Ugh this hurt my heart so much Wes has such a beautiful soul and is just so burdened by life. And you have Connor the happy, light guy who feels the pressures from his family to be more than he wants to be. And Autumn the sweet farm girl who's caught in the middle. She loves the carefree nature Connor brings to her life and the sweet nothings he writes her. But she feels this unexplainable pull toward the tortured Weston. I need to know how this mess of a love triangle concludes. I'm rooting for Weston because I need the underdog from Southie to have light in his life after the tribulations he's been through. But Connor deserves happiness too. Ultimately Autumn is pulled in both directions and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

"Maybe pain exists to make us appreciate the beauty."

Let's start with the fact that I was a little skeptic if I will like this book or this duet at all. Because I'm not into love triangles and I couldn't see how this will go down. And I'm really sorry that I doubted Emma. I should have known that she wouldn't write a typical love triangle. That she would find a way to create something so special, that the whole world should read this!

"Something good and whole in her spoke to something rotted and broken in me."

Bring Down the Stars is like a wrecking ball hitting my heart. Dying a slow death, leaving me with emotions beyond expression. With each chapter my heart cracked a little more until the final blow. My heart shattered into a thousand pieces, silently without any further notice. I had to re-read the last few pages several times over and over again even though silent tears were streaming down my face.

"Sometimes the heart hides itself behind the mind."

I have really no idea how Emma does it, but her words are magical. They simply grab you and pull you into a world, created out of pure emotion. This talent is golden. Her words reach so deep into your soul, hitting nerves you never knew you had. Soul-touching and -crushing. Leaving you unable to do anything else than turning the pages, living in the book, forgetting the world.

"I could fill her soft hand with all of my words, Curl her fingers around them Protected now My soul in her safekeeping"

How do you know that a book got to you deeply? For me it's the point of the first kiss, when unexpectedly the butterflies in my stomach run wild and my heart flips like it was my first kiss. Emma created a connection between Weston and Autumn that's not from this world. It crackles from every page of this book and will charm you right into their world.

"He smiled and it was like the sun coming out after a cloudy day."

Autumn is such a beautiful soul. She's been burned and now cautious with her heart. Because if she loves, she loves deeply and with all her soul and heart. She's looking for romance, holding hands, love letters, fireworks. Which girl doesn't? I can totally relate to Autumn. I can see what she sees in Connor and why she thought she fall for him. But her soul was bound to Weston since their first encounter.

"The air around Weston was always electric. A crackling force field that kept people away, fueled by his barbed tongue and acid wit."

Connor is a character that tore me in half. On the one hand I really wanted to dislike him. But that's impossible. Even though he's spoiled and has everything, he's got such a good heart and just wants to be loved for what he is. He would sell his last shirt to help where it's needed. Connor's character is as tragic in this story as Weston's only on different levels and not less important.

"Kissing him was the completion of something I didn't know had started."

Weston won my heart over as his 12 year old self. And he continued to carry it through the whole book. I'd like to say he's my new favorite book-boyfriend. I have no wonderful words like Emma to describe him. Just read the book and you will know, that you simply can't describe his magic.

"I loved her. My cracked, tarnished heart that was scared to love, loved Autumn Cadwell. My soul sang the words I could never say to her out loud."

Bring Down the Stars is a book from another world, a story written in words that will leave your heart gutted. It's a slow-burn spiked with just the perfect amount of angst. It will make you feel all the feels. It's pure emotional beauty. It has a soul that will connect instantly with yours, a connection that will not be broken any time soon.

"For you, I would bring down the stars, wreath their fire around your neck like diamonds, and watch them pulse to the beat of your heart..."
