Then the story jumps five years and Ava and Mercy are no longer together but due to a shift in power of the motorcycle club they all have to come back, which leads them coming back together.
There’s a bunch of betrayal, funny and sad moments but I will not read this book again. I didn’t encounter the 13 year age gap nor did I think these kinds of books are for me.

Absolute masterpiece.
I had yet to find a motorcycle club book that I really enjoyed - until this one. Holy moly. This is everything that [b:All the Ugly and Wonderful Things|26114135|All the Ugly and Wonderful Things|Bryn Greenwood|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1500552983s/26114135.jpg|46061078] should have been but unfortunately was most definitely not. Both books have a romance with a huge age gap compounded by the fact that they meet when one of them is only a child, both have motorcycle gang type stuff going on, both have characters that are definitely a dark grey in the ethics scale. But this book had a lot more heart, a lot more drama, a lot less incestuousness (thank goodness), and a lot more depth of character and feelings. I think my only complaint about this book might be that this was perhaps a little longer than necessary. It could have been edited down more (it's 700+ pages!) though I can't really say what exactly could have been removed plot wise, but definitely there were sometimes lengthy descriptions that I skim-read, especially towards the end. Otherwise, this was surprisingly good. Thanks to Val for recommending it!

Fearless is beautifully written but I struggled to get past the third person POV. That being said, I would recommend this one for anyone who loves Sons of Anarchy or Mayans MC and is here more for the motorcycle club and not the romance. There were so many subplots & side characters that it made it hard to really connect with Ava and Mercy.
Lord this was looong. But it managed to be immersive and enjoyable, not tedious. This is age gap taboo done well. It's not just that he's older, it's that there is a father/daughter type bond there that never goes away, and is embraced, even after they become sexual. I've never seen it explored that way before and somehow it didn't ick me out. Idk. It definitely should have, but it was poetically and convincingly done. when he called her father out for saying 'that wasn't how he raised her' because he was the one who'd actually raised her, whew. that shouldn't have turned me on
Why the hell did it take me 900 years to finally decide to Read this series???? I know why, cause the first book is long af! BUT man… once you get past the 20% mark? Boy oh boy is it amazing! You can’t stop reading! And Mercy and Ava’s relationship? Oh so beautifully tragic. Every. single. part. When they finally get there HEA it’s amazing! I love Mercy so much! He’s so strong and he has a Darkness in him that people should fear but with Ava? With Ava he’s a sweet boy that gave his whole heart to his girl. I’m so excited to start the next book immediately!
trying to figure out how I am just know reading this. These bikers are sinful and the writing is brilliant.
This was loooonnngggg, geez. Almost gave up, I don’t like, really don’t like novels that take me back & forth, fourteen years ago, five years ago, aaaarrrrgggghhhhh. Why don’t you just put all that in the Prologue or do a Part 1 & Part 2 kind of thing. Enough of that, I enjoyed it don’t know if I will be going back for the other books in the series but the characters are still playing in my head especially Aidan Teague.......and Michael, Tango too.
