This book was more action than romance, but still managed to be pretty steamy. A few times I actually found myself wishing I was in Kira's shoes... Or spot on the bed... Or in her place against the tree... (smiles dreamily to self...)

Speaking of Kira... She was just awesome. She's strong, feisty, and fiercely independent... Just the kind of girl Lucas needed. Oh and she's also pretty good at being a submissive. (I find myself reading more and more books featuring the BDSM lifestyle these days. I'm not sure if it's just the new trend or if it's just me being kinky... If it's the former, I'm definitely not complaining ;) )

Overall, I really liked this book, but deducted a star since it went from the characters not really knowing how they felt about each other (other than sexually) to them all of a sudden madly in love with each other. I understand that they aren't human, but I still think a bit more build-up would have been better. I loved all the action and the back-and-forth between Kira and Lucas (which earned it all 4 stars). The hot sex and Dom/sub roles were just icing on the cake.

I will most definitely be reading the next book I the series. I'm a bit eager to find out what happens between Lucas' brother Kane and a certain someone... (No spoilers here!)

Shifter Romance Boxset 2013 11/11

I enjoyed the story, though there are a few questions left to be answered in later books. One problem I did have was the editing, which I'd seen in reviews on Amazon that other people had noticed too. There are some mistakes that are distracting enough to pull you out of the story.

This is for the version of Lucas in the [b:Eliza Gayle Shifter Bundle|12818083|Eliza Gayle Shifter Bundle|Eliza Gayle|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1359744658s/12818083.jpg|17967547]. I own the individual book of Lucas also, but it was just easier to read it in the bundle.

I enjoyed this very much at a time I was getting tired of F/M paranormal romances.

Kira McDonald feels the mating call pulling to her, but she knows it could end up being disastrous for her as well. Sensing her mate is in trouble, she is able to track him down only to have her worst suspicions confirmed.

Lucas believes Kira is involved with his abduction but he also is attracted to her on a level that is not normal. Once he realizes she is his mate, everything begins to spiral out of control and Lucas has to find a way to save his mate before it is too late.

I was slightly confused by Kira and did not quite understand what was going on with her when she gets this frenzy behavior while struggling with the unclaimed mating. It was an interesting concept and was nicely setup for the next in series.

I didn't expect to enjoy this half as much as I did. But I really enjoyed it.

Kira is about to begin her her mating cycle and she'll lost her sanity if she can't find a mate. But she is having some muy caliente dreams about some random guy - how could any flesh and blood male compare?

Lucas is a Guardian and being held against his will. They are hoping that by caging him he will reveal his abilities but he is way to wily for that! But he thinks he may be going loopy when his dreams take on a whole new feel and a certain redhead gets under his skin!!

Whilst Kira and Lucas are on generally opposing sides, they quickly learn to work together. The fact that they share a blinding hot passion also helps with the truce! I thought Kira was so independent that she'd hurt herself rather than ask for help. Lucas was sexiness personified. I loved all the hot, steamy scenes but there was a good story to go with all the smexiness!! Brilliantly written characters!

This is the extended version of this book and I love it!! The characters are wonderful and flawed, the world building is great and I look forward to reading more in this series:).

Yay giveaways
So this book wasn't AWFUL and it's better edited than some. The thing is that it's super rushed,
the bullshit with the brother and sex was a threadbare excuse for some menage action
, and there's random little tantalizing mentions that aren't followed through on. I might read the author again (after a string of authors who think spellchecker is an acceptable replacement for editing it's nice not to have my current winning streak of edited books broken) but this one was a bust for me.

At the 80% mark I still didn't care about the characters or the story.
