this was so weird what. After multiple rereads since I had to write a paper on this, I appreciate the story more. The author is touching on sexism and how Miss Sasagawara doesn't conform to stereotypical gender roles so everyone thinks she's crazy even though she is a normal person. There is very little published about Japanese internment so regardless this story is important.
