If you've ever agreed with the textpost about a waiter dreaming of Gordon Ramsey taking them against the broken dishwasher, then this is the book for you.

I'm a big fan of A.J. Truman’s writing style in this series, the witty characters and the fun banter together with low angst and some steam works really well for me.

This one, like the other books in the series, is a pretty lighthearted story - considering it contains tropes such as bi-awakening, daughter’s ex-boyfriend, boss / employee and a twenty year age gap it could definitely have ended up angsty. In Truman’s hands however, this cocktail becomes a deliciously funny and steamy read instead, featuring a grumpy barkeep and an enthusiastic former frat boy.

And how l totally loved and adored that frat boy! I had a lot of fun reading about Charlie’s antics and I loved how he was such a bratty tease at times. I laughed out loud several times during the wedding set-up when Charlie kept sending Mitch inappropriate texts and pictures, while I could basically feel Mitch’s frustration coming off the pages. They made for a great pair with the whole grumpy / sunshine dynamic going on. Bonus points for some seriously hot scenes, and the dirty talk was really on point!

This book was a strong ending to the Single Dad’s Club series, and I look forward to reading whatever A.J. Truman writes next. If you’re a fan of K.M. Neuhold’s Four Bears Construction series or just want something fun, romantic and steamy I wholeheartedly recommend this book (or just read the entire series- it’s worth it)!

Meh. This was boring. It felt like a formula. Definitely the least favorite of this series. The chemistry was off, and the dynamics between the MCs just felt off.
