this was such a fun read!!! it is a great example of how amazing christian lauren is. i liked it more than the first in the series and a lot more than i expected to like it. the audio was also pretty good!

I really liked Max and Sara! This book and their relationship was really cute! I found myself really rooting for them through their stubbornness about not having a real relationship. This book had a lot more emotion than I was anticipating and was great to read! I love when I get to watch a couple slowly fall for each other while trying to convince themselves that it’s only temporary.
My favorite part was the third act conflict. Not because I particularly liked what broke them up (because I didn’t), but because of how much emotion I felt in the scene in the apartment (iykyk), which I would definitely include quotes of here if they weren’t major spoilers!
Does this book hold up in 2024? Not really, but if you suspend your disbelief, it’s great!

Aqui está o livro que me fez apaixonar por esta série e pelas Christina Lauren! Mais uma vez temos uma leitura fácil, rápida e para distrair o leitor com fantasias fora do comum. O enredo não é muito profundo até metade do livro, pode parecer até um pouco repetitivo dado o género da leitura. Contudo, é fácil de gostar das personagens e de torcermos por elas, em comparação com o livro 1 e o casal que faz algumas aparições como amigos nesta trama.

I really loved this book. Max and Sara were fabulous characters. Their love story made me swoon. I do have to mention that if you shy away from sex scenes, you will want to avoid this book. The entire book was very intimate and would be too much for someone who doesn't like a lot of sex in their books.
RE-READ UPDATE:
I loved this book, so when I saw it available to listen to from my library, I decided that would be a good way to revisit the story and characters. It was just as fun and sexy as the first time around. I loved the narration.
