If someone told me three years ago that i will someday read a magical realism graphic novel on the highest level i would have told him you are tripping.
I was overwhelmed at the last 100 pages if i wasnt sleepy already i would have finished this yesterday
This is A graphic novel about Life in all its beauty all its sadness all its ups and downs
This is a graphic novel that lets you pause for a minute and think to yourself that you are actually living
it was beautiful with all its hopes and fears and sadness and happiness it was life , as it should always be
This is what all of us would feel if we someday get to step back and see the big picture the whole picture the divine beauty of it all
I am imperessed really i love magical realism which most of the time is only portrayed in novels and its the first time i read it in a graphic novel and get to see it as well with the beautiful art work of gabrial ba
the pacing of the artwork itself was amazing you can understand everything if you just understand what magical realism is all about thanks to how the art and the writing were blending together in a perfect sync
Thanks for making this masterpiece and thanks for giving us the opportunity to enjoy it.

I especially loved the drawings and also liked thinking about life - what makes a life, a death and how do we recognise it.

A lovely, life affirming work. Impressive how it manages to be so, despite featuring multiple gruesome deaths.

Whenever online discourse or friends describe a work as being "one of the greatest examples of its medium", I can never help but expect a grand, sweeping story full of ecstatic highs and moments where your heart leaps out of your chest. Daytripper had been described to me in such terms, but Daytripper isn't a rip-roaring, high-stakes tale.

That's because that's not what life is either, at least most of the time. Life is what Moon and Bá want to explore.

Because of my off-base expectations, when the novel's central conceit reveals itself, I was intrigued. Death is recurring, but why? I was sure I was about to delve into a fantastical tale of time-travel, time-loops or parallel realities.

Here's where I was wrong: deaths in Daytripper are not a mystery to be uncovered -in fact they're never explained at all- but that doesn't make them meaningless. Deaths in Daytripper are a tool to make the reader reflect upon their own lives and the moments that make them. Moon and Bá are reminding us that any one of us could be gone tomorrow, so savour every second and don't linger on decisions, before or after. I'm always grateful to read a story that reminds me of that.

In our lives, there is an ever-present question: What if? What if we had taken a different path or made alternative choices? "Daytripper" elegantly confronts us with the captivating and intricate nature of life's boundless possibilities.

This book serves as a poignant reminder of the significance of our decisions and the value of cherishing each moment. It encourages us to embrace the journey of self-discovery and live our lives authentically, free from the weight of regrets or the fear of the unknown.

A arte dessa hq é linda, e a história parece meio sonho, meio realidade.
