3.5 stars rounded to 4! I love TJRs writing she is most certainly one of my favorite authors. I have enjoyed everything ive read by her thus far. This is an adult contemporary about a failed marriage and life after. It was an easy read and enjoyable for what it was trying to do. I enjoyed it!
“Why do we undervalue things when we have them? Why is it only on the verge of loosing something that we see how much we need it!”
What a beautiful book. Such a lovely, easy read with so many snippets of wisdom. Reading it truly felt like a hug from your grandma or having coffee with an old friend. You feel a bit mushy inside and thankful for the time you have.

I mean. I am so glad my marriage isn’t like this one. I think the person you are at 19 may be very different from the one you are at 30, and marriages honestly aren’t built to shift that much. I wish Rachel had space to be grey or demi or ace. I did like seeing how they characters learned to be better. Not sure i loved that ending.

Honestly my biggest takeaway from this book was that grandparents are precious and I miss mine all the time.

Another great novel by TJR. The complex and flawed characters were so relatable and the story was fresh and lively. Great spin on what can happen when we give up and when we try. Julia Whelan is, of course, a superb narrator.
