Heartbreakingly beautiful. It shares the journey of grief in a very real way. I loved how folklore and fairy stories guided the main character, Esther’s journey through understanding what happened to her sister.

This was a really beautiful story about loss, family, and processing grief. Admittedly, I think this book was just slightly too long and some parts felt a little drawn out, and the main character was a little difficult to connect with, even though I wanted to keep trying.

The narration by Emmanuel Mattana was really good and consistent and the pace was great btu again, the whole thing felt just a bit too long.

What an incredible and inspiring read! Deserves more then 5 stars. I was lucky enough to read this whilst travelling around Tasmania, the feeling was surreal, plunging into the depths of the story, feeling a deeper connection to the characters and places. It’s a moving tale, and I loved every minute of it, truly sad to finish this read.
