I will not be giving a star rating to this book. I just can’t. This books describes a society in the future where most animals are killed off due to a supposed virus and humans have become the only source of meat. I wanted to throw up the whole time reading this book but also could not stop. It was the most disturbing thing I’ve ever read but also sooo interesting and enthralling. It really makes you think about animal cruelty and overall human consumerism in a different light. I think this book is going to stick with me for a long time and I’m not sure if that’s good or bad.

I absolutely recommend reading this in spanish if you can. it does well criticizing capitalism and dissecting how society tends to get greedy and soulless. disturbing and unforgiving.

Wow… That ending. I completely thought that this book was just going to be a commentary on eating meat in modern Society… However it seems like there's a whole lot more to it. I think I'm going to need a week or two to digest and figure out what all of the themes actually are. Holy moly… This book will stick with you forever and not completely in a good way. Eeek! 😦
