A very relatable and nostalgic read for me. I was a museum guard for around two years and a half, two of those spent in the Louvre, and Bringley's memoir echoed a lot of my feelings and memories of it, whether it was the day-to-day of working as a museum guard, how it changes you overtime, but also the state of mind you're in. It made me ponder on my life there, and the person I've become since, so I'm really glad I listened to it.

I really enjoyed how the author weaved the story of his grief into the peace of being surrounded by beautiful pieces of art. I took the time to look up each piece of art that he mentioned and I learned so much and could see the beauty of each work in a different light.

A beautifully written memoir about family, grief, and the human experience through the lens of a great appreciater of the arts.

Bringley had such a unique perspective on consuming art. It made me so excited to go back to the Met someday and re-examine some of my favorite pieces and fins things to appreciate about the pieces I don't immediately love.

His descriptions of grief and how life continues on after tragedy were poignant and relatable. This is a wonderful summer read, but be warned you might shed a tear here and there.
