I love a second-chance romance and Go Around is no exception. We get all the delicious angst but with this particular book, there's no dancing around whether the two people involved still love each other or want to be together. The breakup was solely because of one partner's inability to come out.

One of the best things about this book for me was the obsessed fan and how that all played out. The final confrontation was so well done that I was on the edge of my seat for the duration. The aftermath was great, also. Noyes could definitely make a go with writing thrillers.

As usual, I'm late with the review of the ARC but I'm working on getting caught up. I'd do much better if I was able to stop picking up new ARCs... Is there an ARC Addicts Anonymous chapter I could join?? And this one came directly from the publisher so I can't use it to reduce my terrible review ratio on NetGalley. I'll get there...

Big thanks to Bella Books for sending me a copy of Go Around. And an even bigger thanks to E. J. Noyes for writing consistently wonderful books.

Frequently I complain about the miscommunication trope. Here, I found the issue was overcommunication. We know that Elise and Avery still love each other and are attracted to each other but the constant verbal processing, while healthy, just wasn't fun for me to read.

This is a single POV romance from Avery’s perspective. Avery and Elise have off the charts chemistry and clearly still have a lot of love and respect for each other, but it’s messy and emotional and yes, steamy. Their initial breakup was due to Elise’s decision that she wasn’t ready or able to come out, and Avery didn’t want to be in a relationship she had to keep secret.

Elise has a lot of regret, and Avery understandably has a lot of residual hurt. I found both of them to be very likable and believable and they had great communication, but there wasn’t much variety in setting and there were minimal side characters. I get the setting since they spend much of the story with Elise hiding out in Avery’s house, but I found pretty much everyone else to be flat caricatures instead of developed people.

The stalker aspect felt like it was just a vehicle to reconnect the two, though, and I didn’t find it particularly compelling. It wasn’t really addressed much beyond Elise’s anxiety around it and Avery’s protectiveness, and I found myself wondering whether they were ever going to circle back to resolve it.

As I have come to expect with E.J. Noyes, the writing is funny, sexy and compelling. I really enjoyed experiencing this couple rebuild their relationship. All relationships wax and wane, even true love. But where there is love and respect for one another I have found that even big mistakes and hurts can be overcome just as they are here in this story.

Abby Craden did a great job narrating this one and I can definitely imagine listening to it again.

Books like this are why I read. Holy Chemistry. These two have so much tension in the beginning. You can immediately tell how deep their relationship was. The way they fell back into their relationship was natural and progressive. All the small things like doing chores together, to cooking meals, and the big things like the hiding of their relationship. Its all there. It makes it so much more intimate and sensitive.

Second chance romance is always a winner for me. Off the bat theres so much chemistry. The heartache that Avery feels but indulges in because shes thinks she overs her ex, is some of my favorite. You can feel her heartache in the beginning and her restraint when it comes to Avery. But she quickly reverts into loving her. Elise has grown as a person and even though its only one point of view you can see exactly who she is a person. How empathetic and Loving she is. I absolutely adore her. I adore them both.

I would have loved to see this from Elise’s POV but i think single POV made it better.
