Phew, you can tell from the content warnings how wild the Greek Gods are. As someone who has read the Bibliotheca, this was definitely a much more entertaining and digestible way to read about the twelve (major) Gods of Greek Myth. And obviously since it is written to be family friendly, that a lot of it was watered down.

I don't love how biased Percy is towards his father since there were several instances where what he was describing was his dad raping women, but called it 'cuddling' and hardly had anything bad to say. However, he did do that with Zeus as well which is odd since he pretty much hates the guy. (obviously, Percy is fictional and I am talking about Riordan here).

Overall, I enjoyed this a lot and will be continuing into the Greek Heroes as told by Percy Jackson.

Love Percy’s sassy take on the Greek Gods-Rick Riordan has such a fun time telling the stories of Mount Olympus and its pantheon of complex immortals.

took me almost two months to read this one because I wanted to absorb it but I'm adhd so I only made progress when I decided to say "screw it" and accept that I wasn't actually here to learn.

that aside, it was fun getting to know more about the gods, especially from Percy's perspective because he makes the whole thing much more fun. all you need to know is that the gods are trash and if Percy wasn't making jokes I'd get bored of those entitled brats killing and cheating on each other for absolutely no other reason other than "because they can". Zeus should be in jail for the rest of his immortal life, Poseidon, Hades, Hephaestus, Hermes and Dionysus are fine (they still do bad things, just less than the others), and to be honest I didn't really pay attention to the girls (probably because there's less of them and it was just a constant string of them being harassed by the dude gods). I like Hestia, though, and Artemis. I don't like how Percy colored Persephone, but that's probably because I love Lore Olympus lol. Anyway, this was good fun and I always love hearing this guy narrate Percy, it's just really comforting and always hits the sweet spot.

Loved Percy’s trip through the Olympian pantheon, with his usual snark and style!
