This is my favourite arc of the podcast, just ahead of The Crystal Kingdom, and the graphic novel version didn't disappoint.

There are quite a few changes from the podcast, mostly streamlining the story, which I really liked. I think this book integrated the between-arc content and the overarching story stuff really well too.

As with the previous books in the series, I think this stands really well on its own (not just as an adaptation), and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is interested but hasn't listened to the podcast.

i honestly barely remembered the eleventh hour plot from the original podcast, so reading this was like a good refresher. i forgot how much shit gets revealed and foreshadowed in this arc. can’t wait for the next one and all the pain it will bring

The Adventure Zone: Eleventh Hour is an incredible addition to the TAZ: Balance Graphic Novel series. Our resident Tres Horny Boys are after yet another relic, this time in a town called Refuge. The town is cut off from the rest of the world, and trapped under a bubble. The boys quickly find out that not only is the town separated from the outside world, it has been reliving the same, eleventh hour, over and over again. They are met with challenges, both physical and mental, as well as having to face their biggest, and hardest, decision yet. Would you go back and rewrite  your worst day?

As an avid listener, and longtime fan of the podcast, I have been looking forward to this novel for quite some time. It is so exciting to get to relive my favorite scenes again, as if for the first time, as well as having the knowledge that for some people, this is their first time. The balance between the foreshadowing and hints for what is to come alongside the revelations of the characters pasts and how they deal with the consequences of their actions already taken are breathtaking. I am already on my toes waiting for the 6th novel, and until then will fill my time relistening to the original campaign.

Full book: Ugh, I can’t handle all the feels in these books! So emotional and I love them so so so much. Pietsch and the McElroys knocked it out of the park AGAIN. The art is incredible, and they capture the essence of the podcast while modifying it enough to translate super well into a graphic novel format. I can’t WAIT for The Suffering Game, one of my all time favorite arcs (Petals to the Metal is my other favorite). Will definitely reread it after I reread the first 4.

ARC: Read the sampler from Net Galley and it was very good! I can’t wait to read the whole thing. I remember this arc of the podcast blew my mind. My one complaint about the galley was it was hard to read some of the drawn-in text.
