Not your typical fairy tale princess story! Prince Sebastion has a secret--he likes to dress up in beautiful dresses. So when he hires young Frances to make him stunning dresses so that he can go out on the town as Lady Crystallia, he knows he's taking a risk. He's sure his parents would disapprove because cross-dressing doesn't seem very regal.

Full of fashion and a cross-dressing Prince who finds his princess in the working class--cute, fun, and graphic panels full of expression! Great for junior high and high school students. For some reason, I loved that the Prince Sebastion falls in love with a girl--some readers will think more about gender norms after reading this graphic novel.

STORY: The prince in a western country has a fluid gender identity and dreams of being able to dress how they feel. They hire a dressmaker who dreams about being a designer. Together they help eachother finding their happy ending.
.
MY THOUGHTS: It’s sugary sweet and kind. Simple but beautiful characters who find love in an unusual setting. Real difficult problems about masculinity and love is told in a soft spoken pace and with a happy ending. It’s a healing story with breathtakingly beautiful art.

a wonderful, very enjoyable story! the art and costumes were gorgeous, and the character designs were distinct and made everyone easy to recognize even as their hair and outfits changed. great themes about being true to yourself even though it’s scary, and our responsibility to make the world a kinder place for the people we love. i really enjoyed this book

A super fun graphic novel!

This book is one of the sweetest things I’ve ever read. The art is gorgeous, and the story is lovely. Appreciated the well-executed commentary on gender nonconformity. Excellent comfort food. Would recommend.

This was so cute! Loved every second of it
