Rykers power are getting more powerful and he needs to hide them to protect him and his friends.
However the council are aware the king has returned and send enforcers to search and they take Brokk and Maurelle and use spell and potions to try and make them admit who the king is.
I really enjoyed book 2 and I am eagerly awaiting book 3.

It's year 2 at Bramble's Edge Academy. Maurelle & Ryker are back together along with his 3 closest friends. In this book, Ryker uses his king powers & marks his 3 closest friends as his Guard. He doesn't want to put Maurelle in any more danger so he is putting off telling her how he feels. He has to accept that he has to share her with his 3 friends even if he doesn't know the reason behind it. When Maurelle & Brokk are taken in the middle of the night because they are linked to the new king, Ryker will stop at nothing to get them back. As his powers continue to grow, he has to find a way to come in to his powers & very quickly or the entire Fae race will suffer further.
I couldn't put this one down. I love the way these characters all fit together. I'd like to know more about why Ryker has to share Maurelle with his friends, but I don't think not knowing this takes away from the story. I'm looking forward to book 3 in this series.
