No perdáis el tiempo ni el dinero con esta porquería. El cringe más grande de mi vida con un libro 'feminista'. La idea tenía mucho potencial pero se ha descarrilado una poca.
1.5/5 (y da gracias)

Less relevant in my line of work, but still some good tips and thinking and generally more inclusive than I expected.

This book was too transphobic, and because of that lack of inclusivity, and just the 'quirkyness' of it, it doesn't deserve more than one star.

I want every man in my life to read this.

A funny-because-it's-true refresher for women on dealing with the shit we learn to ignore on a daily basis.

This is not just a survival manual for the workplace - this is my manual for living life as a bad ass feminist in a world where equal rights are not what they should be. My goodness, this book ROCKS. It is funny, it is real, it is well written, well researched, beautifully illustrated, awesome layout, riddled with good examples and good tactics to combat the sexist bullshit we come across every damn day. I will make sure my own FFC borrows this book from me and reads it. Spread the knowledge! Lean the fuck in! We are all warriors in our own ways and we CAN do it and we WILL do it by building each other up, staying present, and keeping our heads up.

This book is meant to be practicably useful: flip to a section, find the particular problem you are experiencing and read suggestions for how to combat the toxic masculinity and misogyny that surrounds you. What it is not however, after the first section, is a book that is likely meant to be read straight through. Which is what I attempted to do. While the world continued to burn down around us.

The book is full of all kinds of practical tips and explanations about how these scenarios pop up so that you know you aren’t alone or aren’t crazy for seeing them in the world around you. The title says “manual for a sexist workplace” but really, it is a manual for a sexist world. You will experience some of these behaviors no matter who you are or where you work, or where you shop, eat, or visit. The part of the conceit of the book that I liked best is that it offering varying ways of responding. Bennett isn’t telling us that every solution will work each time; nor that every solution is right every time. She instead offers a scale of ways to react.

This is a good book but, as someone who has been in the working world for quite a while and has already learned to navigate through it to some extent, it wasn't as useful to me as I think it would be for women who are just starting out. I like that the information was backed up with statistics and studies, and the writing was relaxed and relatable.

Everyone should read this 🔥
