Feminist Fight Club is just okay. Its Buzzfeediness is represented in numerous Roald Dahl-esque doodles in the margins and paragraph breaks that constantly try to convince you that this book is as fun as it is serious, along with a couple of jokey quizzes to determine your lady bossness or something, a number of “pledge sheets” in which you promise to support yourself and your sisters in the workplace, and the endless stream of tiny chapters with easy to read headlines and quick blurb-y examples.
And in doing this, Jessica rather fascinatingly undermines many of her own points — most of which revolve around how to be taken more seriously in the workplace, how to negotiate raises and starting salaries, and how to contend with interrupting co-workers. In reality, this is a pretty boiler plate guide to navigating a lot of office micro- and macroaggressions. And while Jessica’s arguments and facts are good, they’re not groundbreaking and her presentation style harms a lot of her efforts.

While I am incredibly proud to be part of a workplace of amazing, supportive, intelligent boss ladies, this manual is not just for ladies in sexist workplaces, it is life advice for women in any field. I recommended my teenage sister read this, even though it will be YEARS before she sees her first office. It's about surrounding yourself with strong, accomplished women and supporting each other in good times and bad. That's something I think we can all get behind.
This was a very interesting read. As a young woman who is entering the world of work, I felt it gave some useful insights and tips. It was a very quick and easy read however at times the language felt TERF-y or trying to pit women against each other rather than supporting each other, which kinda goes against the tone of the book. I quite enjoyed the puns but it was hard to tell who this book was aimed at due to the various types of language use throughout.

necessário. em mundo machista como o nosso, há situações e colocações que, naturalmente, nos colocam em desvantagem e isso está tão entranhado na sociedade que até para nós mulheres é difícil de ver e fácil de reproduzir. esse livro mostra uma grande parte disso, especialmete no ambiente de trabalho. rever essas questões é sempre o caminho.
eu sinto que eu levei a reflexão para além disso KSKKSJSJS muitos momentos eu me identifiquei com várias partes do livro para além do ambiente de trabalho, principalmente quando se tratava de auto-afirmação e a importância disso na vida em si, não só no trabalho.

This book is AWESOME. I read it on Kindle, and my only regret is not getting a paper copy to keep on my desk. I loved this humor, and the advice was great. It's not the "let's fix the broken world" sort of book, but a "here's the tools to navigate in the broken world" book. I will referencing this for a while. A big confidence boost too!

Como sabem criei um projeto #GirlPowerBookChallenge apesar de não estar incluído este livro no projeto, bem poderia estar, recomendo-vos a ler. Vai de encontro com o género de livro que eu queria que vocês lessem para o desafio. Leituras de mulheres para mulheres, para nos dar pontos de vista de outras mulheres, para não nos sentirmos tão sós.
É um livro para ter mais em consideração o feminismo no meio de trabalho, contudo, pode bem se ler para qualquer outra situação. A forma como a escritora junta a realidade com um pouco de diversão. Temos várias dicas, várias tarefas, atividades…
Admito que o livro ficou um pouco abaixo das minhas expectativas. Tem um formato engraçado e muito divertido, é bom e recomendo. Mas, eu tinha tantas expectativas que acabei por ficar um pouco desanimada. Esperava um livro que me agarrasse de uma forma inexplicável, que me fizesse sair por aí a gritar o quanto é bom e que devem ler… Leiam, vale a pena dar uma oportunidade. Divirtam-se a ler este livro, sem expectativas. Um livro cheio de #GirlPower.

Práctico y ameno, aunque algunas de las cosas que dice no aplican en contextos latinos. Aunque pareciera muy sencillo, ofrece bastante bibliografía de respaldo. Ya no regalen el Quihúbole a sus hijas y sobrinas, mejor éste.
