I loveddddd dolans writing so god damn much
she’s so witty and observes the human condition so well
I related to the main protagonists and all her many flaws and i at least took the title to be a bit of irony
Something I’ve been dealing with lately
The false notion that at this age (20s etc) are supposed to be the most exciting times of our lives and hers are direly flawed and complicated - I really just loved the social commentary and turbulence and imperfect nature of our emotions and love.
stunning debut !

** this story is very full of privilege and problems within privilege but I think that’s part of its irony
I could look past it’s unlikable take in that sense

*** also I just read she’s queer and autistic and I think that’s why I relate to her writing so much!!! Especially about the human condition
