I actually enjoyed “A Fate Inked In Blood”. Freya & Bjorn were fun characters. I loved their banter and chemistry. I do think the plot is predictable. Even though this book is basically about Norse gods and their half children, it really reminded me of “From Blood & Ash” for some reason. I will definitely be buying the next book to this series.

I was...underwhelmed by the ending of this book. I'm not giving up on this series just yet though. I can see where the potential is at. And it was really cool getting to learn more about Norse mythology.

I'm going to try my best to write the rest of this review without spoilers, but if you're worried about a spoiler, I'd suggest moving on. Just in case.

One of my friends read this right before I did, and she ended up thinking the middle was dragging. I had no idea what she was talking about because I was eating this up. But then we got to the end. I guessed what was going to happen...which wouldn't have really bothered me. But I just felt no real connection between Freya and Bjorn. And that was the book's downfall for me. We had such good tension leading up to the last maybe 15% of the book. And then it was like insta love. Which, again, that's fine in romantasy to me, but all we got up until the end was lust. So for it to go to love so quickly just rubbed the wrong way.

We'll see how I feel about this series once the next book comes out. It could totally redeem itself or it could flop for me. But if you've made it this far in the post, and you don't mind what I've talked about, then I'd say give it a chance.
