I enjoyed this book so much more than I thought I would. While Puzo has got some issues with pacing his character descriptions are wonderful.

Side note: I don’t actually give that much of a shit abt the Johnny Fontane/Vegas storylines, however I do understand why Frank Sinatra was practically begging the Mafia to shut down the movie adaptation.

What a hot pile of misogyny.

An amazing book, The Godfather grips you from the beginning! I started reading and couldn't put it down,it has so many twists and turns....an incredible read!
medium-paced

Loved it, loved it , loved it. The whole aspect of this big war with rivaling families and the strategicness of it all had me through and through. Now I just gotta read the rest of the books and watch the movies.
adventurous emotional mysterious sad tense medium-paced

I should take a few days to process what I read, but right now that I'm done it's a solid 5/5⭐. I didn't think I would like it that much because they had already seen the movie, however, I really enjoyed this read. I was surprised that I won't be bothered by the fact that all the characters are men and unlike other authors who are also what I call "stale old men" I was able to clearly visualize the characters and imagine their feelings and motivations which I think is something which the books of many other established male authors lack.

Recently I have read almost pure fantasy and romance although in general I like all kinds novels and I think this book was a good reminder for me not to get stuck in a single literary genre and reading a little of everything can be very pleasant ☺️

One of, if not THE, most interesting books about family dynamics.
