I really enjoyed this story.
I don’t know why most books portray mothers to be evil people.
Yes I KNOW there are some TERRIBLE mothers out there
I just need books to help heal certain parts of my soul.

This is one of those, Mel & Daria’s relationship is on the mend and it makes my mama heart so happy.

i have so many feelssss

This book is so bad that I got it for free and I STILL want to return it, just to get it out of my library. I mean, how in the FRESH HELL does this book have such a high rating? I’m all for a guilty pleasure romance but there’s isn’t one redeemable quality about this book. And while this particular brand of romance isn’t my typical read, the high rating made me want to give it a try. WHOO BOY was that a mistake. The writing is juvenile, the plot makes zero goddamn sense and as for the main characters? They make me want to slowly and deliberately remove a glove, finger by finger, look them square in the eyes and slap both of them right across their stupid faces for even existing.

I award you no stars, and may god have mercy on your soul.

Mean girl vibes but so much more! Loved these characters and how the grew and developed. Daria is the popular rich senior cheer captain who hides that she’s actually struggling in life. Penn is the guys from nothing, senior football captain whose sister disappered 4 years prior, mother who died and step dad whose a dead beat. Two people with so much against them. So many secret, hatred, family issues, friend drama, love, a total hot mess of characters but it all worked so well.
Enemies to lovers, forced to live together, sibiling drama, high school drama and bullies. I didn’t like Via even after it all, she went way too overboard.

10 minutes of actual parenting could’ve prevented half of these ridiculous plot twists in this book

Wow. That was some intense teenage angst.

The story is all over the place and the actions of the characters make no logical sense, even for fiction. I finished it so it gets two stars.

4.5*

Ohhh boy. This was a mess.

I basically stopped reading around 50% and skimmed the rest just to see what happens. Spoiler alert: it does not get better.

It was all over the place, so many absurd scenarios and situations, I kind of hated every single character, there is absolutely no redeem-ability here, the relationship between the two MCs was beyond bizarre, and I straight up laughed out loud at the ridiculousness of it all.
