J'ai vraiment ADORE ce bouquin même si je sais qu'il peut ne pas plaire à cause de Daria qui fait assez peste. Mais voilà, je la comprends dans ce qu'elle vit même si je ne l'ai jamais vécu et elle sait qu'elle n'est pas parfaite. C'est peut-être ça qui dérange, pour une fois, au lieu d'avoir une gentille fille, Daria a des piquants acérés comme des lames de rasoirs.
C'est ce que j'aime dans cette saga et ce spin-off, les personnages sont loin d'être parfaits et sont souvent détestables. Il n'empêche que le bourbier dans lequel se fourre Daria m'a tiré quelques larmes et c'est pareil pour Penn.
Les parents de Daria n'étaient pas forcément mes persos préf et je ne me souviens même plus de leur histoire (ou si je l'ai lue) et ils ne m'attirent pas vraiment vu ce qu'il se passe dans ce roman avec Daria ahah! En tout cas, j'ai trop hâte de lire l'histoire des autres enfants parce que ça promet de bonnes choses.

poorly structured. badly-written. everything was all over the place. 80% of the book was just pure bs. i only stayed for daria lmao my girl deserved so much better actually

What I realized after reading this book is that I really hate hate sex. I'm a sucker for a good ole enemies to lovers trope but not when it's written like this.
The plot itself was intriguing and was the only thing keeping me from DNF'ing this book.
However, the writing itself, the characters who were extremely unlikeable most times and the unrealistic nature of half of the things (if not most) that went down through the book made it hard to like.
Cue my eye rolling throughout so much of this writing and the lack of gushing over the romance :(

This was dramatic and a bit Riverdale-esque but I still enjoyed it.

this book is a bit more on the darker side of what i usually read, and i tend to stray away from romances with darker subjects.. but the way this one is executed made it so easy to love.
things i liked:
- the immense character development: i actually didn't really like the characters, BUT I LOVE READING ABOUT THEM. there is a difference!! the great thing about reading is that you get to experience others stories, so i actually preferred reading about characters who i didn't understand at first. they were both very toxic, which is why i disliked them so much, but they also have such depth and i found myself understanding and warming up to them as the story progressed and as we started learning more about them.
- how realistic the writing style for each character was: it felt like i was genuinely listening to these characters inner monologues and i LOVED it.
- the pov switches!!: this kind of goes along with the last point, but i LOVE multi/dual pov books and this one is included!! i loved reading both penn and darias pov's so so much.
- the enemies to lovers: POSSIBLY THE BEST PART?? the enemies to lovers felt so natural and was perfectly executed!
things i didn't like:
- wish we got more time with the side characters: i found that the side characters names were mentioned a lot but we don't actually spend a lot of time with them?? wish we just got a little more time with them because they seem so so interesting and i read the little snippet of the next book and it sounds so good but i wish that we saw some more of knight and luna in this book as well bc they seem so interesting!
- this is just a personal preference but it is just a little bit dark for me but if you like dark romances you will 111% love this!!
