“I love you, Daria Followhill, and I think you love me, too. In fact, I think we fell at the same time. You, like rain, in drizzles, over the weeks. Me, like the fucking sky above my head, all at once, crashing without the faintest chance of stopping.”
this was INSANE and dear god daria and penns story was more fucked up than i thought it was gonna be but i still enjoyed every second of it. i genuinely love penn & daria

Let me start by saying that the author went pretty reckless while writing this story, there were millions of holes in the narrative, although I kinda enjoyed her writing style, enjoyed the contemporary references too. The story is actually about the grudge Daria and Silvia, two teenagers held for each other, that too for a long time, and tried to destroy one another’s life but shattered many hearts along the way. It started when they were mere 14 years old, and the amount of venom that ran through their veins, omg, I can’t even imagine the pressure they must have been under. I find holding a grudge against one person difficult, to hold it against multiple- you really have some serious issues there. But the reason behind that grudge was that Daria and Silvia just felt insecure.
This is a story written from multiple first-person point of view, but honestly that did not add anything to it, rather should have been enough if Daria were the one to tell the story.
Even so, I still managed to find something really interesting here. For a long time, I wondered why beautiful and rich people felt insecure, well now I know insecurities are born inside you and you cannot get rid of it until and unless you face it and master it. In fact, this book actually tapped into something really important, we all have a hulk living inside us, some of us can keep it in leash where others are being controlled by the hulk meaning being consumed by the feel of revenge born out of the sense of insecurities. In my case, I would say that I am one of the lucky ones who understood it at an early age.
The book was an easy and light read and you may try it to know more about Daria and Silvia and the destruction they caused while they were on the path to beat each other.

The only reason I finished this book is because I wanted to continue with my reading goal for this year. This is possibly the worst book I’ve ever read and I wish I never purchased it. I usually have a lot to say about books I dislike but in this case I’m truly speechless. 0/5 stars if possible.
For the love of all that is heartbreak! A must read!
What a beautiful, wonderful, infuriatingly amazing story. I don't typically get into the high school scene, but this sucks me right in and held me there from start to finish. Can't walt to read what's next in the series!

I really liked this book, it was steamy, sexy, and full of angst. Well written story, supporting characters and you get both perspectives, Penn and Daria. This was no cookie cutter "mature" YA book. Nothing predictable. So refreshing!! The characters using "Marx" as a substitute for "G-d" was clever. It is also a pretty accurate depiction of teenagers, both rich and poor. I will need to read the 2nd book but I'm not getting to it too soon.

Decent romance with some really fucked up characters. A very enjoyable read overall!
The whole time I was reading this, I felt like I was missing something. The way it was written, it seemed as though the information being put out there should have already been known.
I did read Vicious last year. I didn't know the worlds were connected until 20% into this book. But I still felt like I was missing pieces.
Anyway, the whole story felt off. The interactions between characters and dialog just didn't flow like it should. I don't know how to explain it any other way. Also, it was one massive miscommunication trope (or not communicating at all) the whole book. I seem to be the unpopular opinion, though. This book is widely loved.
I will give it points for entertainment purposes but the story was very meh. I was frustrated most of the time. Vicious was better.
