I enjoyed this more than anticipated. I thought the emotions were well written and the characters well developed. I'll definitely be continuing the series!
Bully romances as much as I live and breathe then, stress me tf out and this was no exception. Listen I had a lot of theories with this one and every single one was wrong
Amazing
I already knew this book was going to be really good but wow. This author is so very talented.Do yourself the favor and just read this book. You absolutely will not be disappointed. (Commence Book Hanover)

I absolutely adore Penn and Daria! Their love story is so strong and I love how their love developed as children and how it changed as they grew older and more mature. Daria broke my heart throughout by her actions and how hurtful they were to others but more so herself. When she broke down towards the end I couldn’t stop myself from crying.
Absolutely beautiful story of familial love and romantic love. And Darias relationship with her father was so realistic and beautiful.

what is this book?
I have no idea what I just read lmao. A book about cheating, and a teacher hooking up with a 17 year old student as a fricking side plot. Come on guys we deserve better then this book. There is better out there. The author is genuinely scary for creating something like this. It’s not even romantic in a dark way it’s just stupid.
Please please, if this book is on your tbr don’t read it. It’s a waste of time and money.

L.J. Shen has me hooked. This isn't the first of her books I've read, nor will it be the last. I absolutely devoured Vicious so when those characters made appearances in this book (now as parents), I was thrilled. I love a good enemies to lovers trope but throw in the angst and I'm a goner!
At fourteen, Daria meets a random boy on the street outside of her mom's dance studio. He offers her some sea glass in exchange for saving all her firsts for him. Turns out his twin sister, Via, dances at the studio. It also so happens that Daria and his sister despise each other. Penn and Via have a rough home life and one day Via runs away and never returns.
Four years later... Bad boy Penn still lives on the wrong side of town with the intentional hole in his shirt over his heart. He loathes Daria now, after everything that happened with Via. And this is where it gets really good.
This book had me in a choke hold, just like Vicious. I even teared up towards the end of the book. I'd highly recommend reading this book.

This book was very emotional for me.
It had me thinking back to what I went through at that vulnerable impressionable age.
Also it reminded me of the struggles my youngest daughter went through.
People react differently to the same situation.
Some may self harm.
Some may hold it in.
Some may take drugs.
Some may seek revenge.
All the characters in Pretty Reckless are complex YA.
Nothing is black and white.
Some are privileged.
Some are poor.
But all have issues.
I loved Penn and Daria.
My heart broke for both of them.
Penn for the circumstances of his life.
Daria for her feelings about herself.
She may be rich. But money does not fix how she views herself and those around her.
He may be poor. But lack of money doesn’t equate to lack of morals.
I thought Daria and Penn were a great fit.
They might bring out the bad in each other.
But they also bring out the good as well.
Their story is complex.
Their hate/love dynamics are breathtaking.
And everything else going on in and around their lives is jaw dropping.
I loved reading this book.
It had me holding my breath in parts, crying in parts, gripping my kindle to the point I was worried I’d break it in two.
It also put a smile on my face and breathing a sigh of relief.
Great read.
I enjoyed every minute of it!
