Oh, this was a delight. I loved seeing the plot points from the version of Beauty and the Beast that I'm familiar with make their appearances, and the tales of the fae were captivating. I feel like I might be a bit enchanted myself. I wasn't very satisfied with the ending, and I felt like it happened far too fast, but I suppose that's what the rest of the series is for!

I devoured this book. Honestly, I decided to read it because of the promised smut and because I'm a sucker for Beauty and The Beast retellings. However what I stayed for is everything!

If I had to find a weak point to this book it would be, ironically, the romance. But it's not a bad romance at all, it's just that everything else is so good the romance takes a backseat, in my opinion.

The worldbuilding, the side characters, the fae court intrigue, the descriptions of the setting and the creatures... This book is ALIVE, like everyone inside it. It's magic and beautiful. And I not only need to read the direct sequel, I need to read every other book in the series, and find out the destinies of all the characters I came to love.
