See How They Run

Ally Carter

3.97 AVERAGE

Ally Carter writes some solid stories. The fact that they are too young for me is not her, or the book's, fault. This series is, perhaps, her strongest. Instead of relying on quick paced individual stories like the Gallagher Girls or Heist Society novels, this one is interlinking with cliffhangers.

The main thing that appeals to me about Embassy Row is the setting. It would be an interesting upbringing to grow up in a foreign country with other Ambassador's children as your companions. And of course, there's plenty of intrigue here with secret societies, conspiracies, and the very real threat of death.

This book was very entertaining and I read it in record time. The pace is quick, the characters good, and the consequences real.

2.5 stars. okay there were a lot of things I disliked and that bugged me in this book. (also wtf with that ending, there are still so many questions left of the main mystery of this book UGH) at the same time I want to find that out and get some answers so I will prob read the last book.....

Is her heist society series better bc I've always wanted to read that series and now I'm not sure.

I have been enjoying this trilogy, but this book is very much an interlude between the first and third. Seemed a little repetitive but overall a good story and link to the final book.

Plot or Character Driven: Plot

This was another page turner that contained a ton of action and even more secrets to unravel. The majority of the book took place during a large festival on the island, which added a chaotic atmosphere to an already stressful situation. Grace and her friends don't know who they can trust and the one man who she perceived as her enemy for the past three years turns out to be the one person she can trust with their lives.

So...I may have read this before book 1. I still really liked it, and didn't find it hard to follow.

OMG. AAAAAACK. Ally Carter’s books KILL me. In a GOOD way. I love her fast-paced writing style and I ADORE the characters, and I am ECSTATIC at that ending. Although it also killed me. *sob*

This series is definitely not my usual type of book, but I'm enjoying it none the less. I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed this installment, and I definitely think the twist at the end of this book was much less predictable than the one in the first book.

I ran as fast as I could to this second book in the series.  It was another quick and fun read.  A nice change of pace from the fantasy books I have been reading.  Nothing to deep.  Light and fun.  Good clean read.  I like the adventure.

Another great Ally Carter read. With a cliffhanger ending ha ha.
