3.5 stars. I had a really difficult time rating this book because of my own personal biases. This story was sad, and super uncomfortable, and at times it made me feel sick. I don't even really know what I was hoping for... I think maybe I was hoping for vengeance. It wouldn't have been very realistic if she pulled a Girl With The Dragon Tattoo at age 14 though. The story itself was captivating and very interesting to read, however, I didn't love the main character as an adult. Perhaps anyone would have turned out the way she did after what she had been through though. I suppose at the end she did begin to accept herself for who she is, which showed good character development.

I wanted to like this book, but I felt that there was just too much trauma. For a book about rape and dealing with the aftermath of rape, why did there have to be so much violence?

just read a different book of hers and realized I never reviewed this one. so:

booooooooo!!!!!!!!!

This was categorized under Thriller in the library, but it's more of a Lifetime movie. The writing is very strong and hooked me into the story, but I wanted more twists and crazy.

I really wanted to like this book more, but I struggled with the main character and its's pretty dark.

Got a lot of red flags from the fiance almost IMMEDIATELY

I did find it hard to put down this book. The overall feel of the book was a little dark for me, but the story was engaging.
